Porn Star Accused of Rape

James Deen, a porn star who is supposedly beloved by female fans, was recently accused of rape by a porn star named “Stoya,” who he used to “date.” The story is quite funny in the Laughing at the Burning of Rome type way. Stoya’s father was unhappy about her daughter being a porn star because when he goes to porn sites he might see her, this has “ruined” porn for him. No joke.

Deen is, for his part, a “feminist,” so he shouldn’t be surprised that he is getting the presumption of guilt. He previously wrote for a “women’s” website called “The Frisky,” he’s not writing there anymore. Editor-in-chief Amelia McDonell-Parry wrote an article(website is possibly NSFW) justifying her decision to remove Deen. Here’s a paragraph from that article(link in original):

I believe women because the vast majority of women I know have been raped or sexually assaulted by a man they knew and/or trusted. I believe women because more than a few men have shown an utter lack of respect for whether I did or could consent. I believe women because, many years ago, I did not consent and he still “couldn’t help himself.”

The reaction we are supposed to be having is “men are bad,” but my reaction is to note that it would be quite unusual for the vast majority of women someone knows to have been “raped or sexually assaulted.” We are supposed to be shocked at the 1 in 5 number and consider that many of these women who have been raped will presumably keep it to themselves. The “more than a few men” comment also makes you wonder. If I were to take McDonell-Parry’s comment at face value I’d tell her to find a better class of friends. Maybe find them in a place she wouldn’t normally go to, like a church.

McDonell-Parry has previously worked for Rolling Stone, Maxim, and Jezebel. I wonder how common people with “life experiences” similar to McDonell-Parry are among writers and reporters for the MSM. The Harvard Crimson reported that 62% of entering Freshmen were virgins, it doesn’t gives the percentages by race(Harvard has a lot of Asians) or intended major. And perhaps Harvard students are more honest than most. It does give the percentages by religion, though:

sexual activity by religion
